Toyota has decided to expand the Crown brand lineup and unveiled a concept for a new full-size crossover, which should hit the market no earlier than 2022. At the moment, there is a sedan for sale, which has a two-liter gasoline engine with 245 hp. and is selling very well.

The crossover is promised to be made as luxurious and luxurious as possible, which fully corresponds to the philosophy of the Crown brand. Of course, some technical features of this car have not yet been presented, but we can say with confidence that the model will not be much worse than the legendary Land Cruiser.

Apparently, the upgraded TNGA GA-N "bogie", which copes well with basing massive bodies, will be chosen as a platform for the new car. At the same time, the Japanese initially considered the TNGA GA-K platform, but it was decided to abandon it due to its small size.

As for the original Crown, the model has already gone through a lot of generations and restyling, so it is unlikely to be abandoned in the near future. It became known that the company is thinking about the introduction of a hybrid power plant, but so far this news is at the level of rumors.
