Toyota has decided to introduce hybrid technology in the auto racing industry and unveiled the new GR010 Hybrid hypercar. The sports coupe is intended for the upcoming 24 Hours of Le Mans championship, which will feature the latest developments from major auto concerns.

At the heart of the car is a powerful hybrid unit, the total output of which exceeds 680 hp. At the same time, the body has the most streamlined shape, which allows the car to reach a maximum speed of 380 km / h.

The electric motor is powered by a small lithium-ion battery, which is recharged as the vehicle is traveling as braking energy is recovered. That is, the model's traction engine works both as a motor and as a generator of electricity.

This year, Toyota has very sharp-toothed competitors who are unlikely to give victory to an overseas conquistador. We are talking about the Peugeot concern, which is also preparing a hot racing novelty, as well as the Alpine company, which is currently working on its hybrid sports car.
